December 2018 Highlights

All the highlights - looking back on a great year

December 2018 Highlights

Total’s 2018 culminated in the SANParks campaign, which was one of the highlights of our 60th anniversary with SANParks this year. Here are five other significant highlights that took place:

On the occasion of the 60-year partnership with SANParks, Total South Africa accelerates its service stations’ solarisation project.

This year Total South Africa revealed a model of their solar service stations at Skukuza Camp and celebrated 60 years of partnership with SANParks in the Kruger National Park.

The reveal is in line with Total’s solarisation project, targeting the installation of solar panels in 5 000 service stations around the world by the end of 2021. This programme drives several efficiencies for the business, including reducing Total’s carbon emissions by 100 000 tons per year, as well as reducing its electricity bill by $40 million per year. All photovoltaic panels will be provided by SunPower, a subsidiary of the Total Group since 2011 and a global industry-leader in the solar photovoltaic sector. In South Africa, 282 Total service stations will be fully solarised by 2021.

Total comes 2nd in Sunday Times Top Brands Survey 2018

The results of the Sunday Times Top Brands Survey 2018 were revealed in October this year. The Total Corporate Communications and Marketing team were in the audience and were thrilled when the MC announced that Total came 2nd in the Petrol Station Category.

“Since the launch of this survey 20 years ago, Total scored fifth, fourth and third place, but never second place, so we are extremely happy with our performance and are now aiming for the number one spot,” said Reina Cullinan, TSA’s Corporate Communications and Marketing Manager.

Dis-Chem partnership became a Total winner

The Total and Dis-Chem partnership turned out to be a huge success. Since the launch of this partnership, Total has had over 160 000 unique customers visit our service stations. Now that calls for celebration!

Total became a Momentum redemption partner

Momentum launched their new loyalty programme for customers called Multiply. Total is pleased to be a redemption partner, in that we are now able to offer our customers even more value for money.

Total’s B2B Mining team secured 2018’s biggest mining prospect

It’s all systems go for our B2B Mining team who dug deep and secured the biggest 2018 mining prospect in the country, namely South32. Total was selected from 25 competitors who were bidding for the tender. Now, we are South32's single and exclusive fuel supplier for a period of five years. Go team!
